Pull out your ugly sweaters, it’s holiday party season! You are probably already looking for your white elephant gift or planning an excuse to leave after 30 minutes but it doesn’t have to be this way. Here are some tips to make your holiday party stand out from the rest.
Get Social –
But not in the “talk to Bob from Accounting” way. Use technology to allow people to have fun and be themselves. Create a custom hashtag and a DIY selfie station. This will encourage your guests to have fun and get a little silly. If the selfie thing is a little too 2016 for you, try live streaming or creating a custom filter .
Brunch is one of the hottest trends among young professionals in 2017 and it looks like it will continue through 2018. Schedule your party in late morning/early afternoon and serve delicious bite sized breakfast and lunch favorites. With all the other holiday parties in the evening, you are probably likely to have more attendees too.
Keep it Local –
The farm to table movement has been going on for awhile, but add a slight spin to highlight products made or sourced from small businesses in your local community. Not only will you be supporting the community you live and work in but you will also be minimizing your carbon footprint.
Holiday-themed Food Stations –
We’ve all heard of the ornament and wreath decorating parties, but 2017 will be about customizing the food. Try a hot chocolate bar stocked with flavored marshmallows, holiday candies and cookies.
